On behalf of our Fairview TaeKwonDo Family, I wish to extend to you a warm welcome. TaeKwonDo is a mordern art
rooted in ancient Korean tradition and literally means " the art of striking with the hand and kicking with the foot".
It demands extraordinary mental and physical discipline, yet it is one of the few activities that can be learned by anyone - young, old, male or female. Today millions of people practice TaeKwonDo around the world because it offers so many benefits to so many types of people. Students benefit physically by developing coordination and a strong body. Students benefit mentally by developing self-confidence, gaining good judgment, and a strong mind. With proper training, TaeKwonDo can provide a total body excrise equaled by few other sports. TaeKwonDo represents self-defense, discipline, awareness, peace of mind, and inner strenght. Simply put, TaeKwonDo is "A WAY OF LIFE". As you learn TaeKwonDo you will come to realize that its true meaning is not in overcoming others, but in overcoming your own weaknesses.
